Distinguishing features

A solid shell with a distinctive thick margin. Pale blue/grey above with brown patches and many small white spots. A distinct dark blotch is usually (but not always) present on each side which extends onto the underside which is otherwise white. Strong teeth line both sides of the aperture and extend nearly to the margins.

  • Up to 5 cm (length according to Wilson, 1993)
