Distinguishing features

A small dark brown nudibranch with a very 'hairy' appearance.

Bill Rudman notes of all Jorunna species: "... the mantle has a velvety appearance caused by the dense covering of caryophyllidia, which are tubercles with an array of protruding spicules." (Sea Slug Forum - Jorunna tomentosa, http://www.seaslugforum.net/find/jorutome, accessed 10 Dec 2021).

This species seems to be the same as Jorunna sp. 4 from the Phillipines in Gosliner et al (2018, p. 121).
