Distinguishing features
According to Humann and Deloach (2010), this is a highly variable species. Black to dark green body with green or orange tubercles; rhinophores orange at the front and with a green or orange band at the base. The body margin is orange and the gills are orange or green. At Lizard Island, the most common form has green tubercles and orange rhinophore base and orange gills.
