Comments

Commelina diffusa, Commelina undulata and Commelina cyanea have all been recorded from Lizard Island, it appears mistakenly. ALA (accessed 8 Nov 2019) notes that C. undulata has been misapplied to C. ensifera and all old specimens in herbarium collections from the area are now identified as C. ensifera.

by Anne Hoggett

Colvill (2004) lists Commelina cyanea as an introduced species at Lizard Island, noting that it is native in NSW. There is no current record of that species at Lizard Island in ALA so it appears that Colvill misidentified C. ensifera.
