Synonyms

Comments

This species is the one described by Bergh (1875) as Notodoris citrina. In 2004, Notodoris was synonymised with Aegires so this species became known as Aegires citrinus. But there was already a different species described as Aegires citrina by Pruvot-Fol (1930). Both species are accepted according to WORMS accessed 31 Oct 2019. However, there has been some confusion with two species that were known for a few years with the same name.

Notodoris citrina is bright yellow and has been recorded several times at Lizard Island.

Aegires citrinus is duller yellow and much more knobbly. See here for more info:
