  has a much longer mouth (extends to level of rear edge of eye), a taller dorsal fin and a less strongly forked tail. Thanks to Dr Scott Cutmore for this information.
• Animalia: Smallscale Bonefish (species: Albula oligolepis)
  has been recorded from Lizard Island but is not often seen. It has much smaller pectoral fins than Chanos chanos and its caudal fin lobes are not as long.
