Distinguishing features

Thanks to Joe Rowlett for the identification through iNaturalist (13 Aug 2022). The species does not appear to have been recorded from Australia previously but Atlas of Living Australia (accessed 14 August 2022) lists a small number of records identified to genus Nausithoe. It remains to be seen if the species identification is correct.

The photos show the benthic polyp form of this scyphozoan (jellyfish), which apparently packs a powerful toxic sting.
