Distinguishing features

Blobby, pink, gelatinous branches with a furry appearance.

Huisman (2019) notes that four species of Gibsmithia are known from Australia, of which he presents photos of three. Of those, the specimens here fit G. indopacifica. However, Gabriel et al (2017) found two lineages of the genus on the northern GBR, one of which they described as G. indopacifica but the other remains undescribed. It's not clear whether the photos presented here are G. indopacifica or the undescribed lineage.
