Distinguishing features

Petioles are channeled on the upper surface. Leaves alternate. Leaf venation is distinctive: two main lateral veins develop from the petiole, not from the midvein on the blade. Leaves can look very smooth with lateral veins barely discernable on the upper surface. Flowers from late September, fruits present in early January.
