Flat branches with thickened edges that divide into two; firm, chalky texture.

Synonyms

Similar taxa

  • Plantae: species: Dichotomaria marginata
    was thought to be widespread but DNA evidence shows it is restricted to the Atlantic Ocean. This flattened form in the Indo-Pacific is probably D. sibogae but that remains to be confirmed (John Huisman, pers. comm., Sep 2020).
