Distinguishing features

Thick, heavily-calcified branches with uncalcified joints that constrict the branches; joints occur both at and away from branching points.

Amphiroa crassa and Amphiroa foliacea have both been recorded from Lizard Island. This one seems to be A. crassa (joints often not at branching points, branches not flattened) but this requires expert id.
