Local abundance

  • Lizard Island: Recorded by Price et al (1976) in 1973 but not noted since.
  • Turtle Group: Dense coverage noted by Andrew Hoey in October 2014, six months after Cyclone Ita. Species had not been seen there before.
  • Turtle Group: Dense coverage still present in May 2015, two months after Cyclone Nathan; observed and videoed by Emma Kennedy.
